We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our community, and we are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist Child to join our team.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist to work with Aboriginal children aged 0-18 and their families. You will be responsible for providing support to optimise the child's development, working within a multidisciplinary team to provide seamless assessment, treatment, management, and support to access the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy, with experience working with Aboriginal communities. You will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of Aboriginal children and their families.

You will work collaboratively with our team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, including assessments, interventions, and education. Your expertise will be essential in supporting children with a range of developmental and learning disorders, including Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services to Aboriginal children aged 0-18 and their families
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide seamless assessment, treatment, management, and support
  • Develop and implement individualised plans to optimise the child's development
  • Provide education and training to parents and carers on how to support their child's development
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of programs to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and their families

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities and/or in a similar role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Estimated Salary

$112,222 per annum plus superannuation and other benefits
