Human Resources Officer Role

This role will drive the efficiency of the Human Resources department with a focus on updating and maintaining company policies, drafting documentation in relation to employee matters and dealing with general enquiries to the HR Team.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative and operational support to the Chief of Staff and HR Business Partner, ensuring company policies and procedures are consistently communicated, understood, and adhered to across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, reviewing, and updating company policies and procedures to ensure they remain compliant with legislation, best practice, and organisational needs.

  • Providing high-quality administrative and operational support to the Chief of Staff and HR Business Partner.
  • Supporting and coordinating end-to-end recruitment activities, working alongside the HR & Recruitment Coordinator.
  • Managing and monitoring the payroll inbox.
  • Assisting with maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records and ensuring data integrity in the HRIS system.
  • Assisting with onboarding and induction processes to ensure new employees have a smooth transition into the organisation.
  • Preparing HR-related reports, metrics, and analytics.
  • Managing employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and wellbeing programs.
  • Participating in HR projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
  • Liaising with external providers, such as recruitment agencies, training organisations, and advisory services, as required.

Requirements:

  • A true HR generalist with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the HR field.
  • Degree qualified in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice. Experience with NZ Employment legislation highly desirable but not required.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing multiple priorities in a high demand role.
  • Possess intermediate - advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) to prepare reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive solutions-focused mindset that thrives under pressure and in busy environments.

  • Ability to maintain the highest confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive employee information.
