The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Administration to join our team at Transgrid, supporting the Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Director Major Projects in the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs and improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the HSE Director, including the preparation, distribution, and filing of health and safety documentation policies, procedures, and reports. Additionally, the role involves coordinating and scheduling health and safety meetings, training sessions, and inspections, as well as supporting compliance with health and safety regulations.

As a Health and Safety Administration, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment, collaborating with senior management and employees to ensure effective communication and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, distribution, and filing of health and safety documentation policies, procedures, and reports
  • Coordinate and schedule health and safety meetings, training sessions, and inspections
  • Support compliance with health and safety regulations by tracking deadlines and submitting required documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations
  • Act as a liaison between senior management and employees, ensuring effective communication of health and safety information
  • Collect, organize, and analyze health and safety data to support management in identifying trends and areas for improvement
  • Assist in the reporting and documenting of workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses
  • Help coordinate employee training programs, including scheduling sessions and tracking attendance
  • Provide support in reviewing and updating health and safety policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum Cert IV Health and Safety, with Business Administration certification, or a related field is preferred
  • Solid demonstrated administrative experience, preferably in a health and safety or related field
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and practices is an asset
  • Strong organisation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to consult with customers and stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Proficiency in the use of corporate information systems
  • A current Australian car driver's licence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with SharePoint and database management
  • Advanced Excel experience and skills
