About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Planning Manager to lead our Land Planning and Environment team, responsible for securing and delivering large infrastructure projects in our Development & Future Networks (DFN) division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Land Planning & Environment team, setting strategic objectives and fostering talent development.
  • Contribute to tender submissions by evaluating planning and environmental requirements, scoping, and cost estimation.
  • Oversee budgets and forecasts in line with authority delegations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in design reviews, offering guidance on environmental outcomes and EES approvals.
  • Offer senior advice on technical environmental issues to ensure regulatory compliance and EES approval.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to secure planning permits, scheme amendments, consents, and EES approval.
  • Coordinate and review environmental planning and approval activities, preparing technical advice for internal and external audiences.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of statutory planning, State and Federal environmental approvals, and utility legislation.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex land, planning, and environmental approvals for major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in environmental assessments, technical report preparation, project monitoring, and meeting deadlines and budgets for large-scale projects.
  • Significant contribution to achieving EES approval on similar projects.
  • Experience managing subcontractor delivery.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams of specialists in planning and environmental scopes.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, manage conflicts, and influence outcomes positively.
