Project Management and Development Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of large-scale solar and energy storage projects in Australia.

  • Manage project life cycles from feasibility through to construction handover, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.

  • Coordinate internal teams and external consultants to achieve project objectives.

  • Monitor and manage project risks, budgets, timelines, and reporting processes.

  • Support project initiation and approval processes.

Site Origination and Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and assess new project opportunities.

  • Undertake field-based feasibility assessments, considering environmental and planning constraints, grid capacity, and land access.

  • Provide expert advice on development risks and mitigation strategies.

  • Stay informed about relevant legislation and policy changes at local, state, and federal levels.

Stakeholder Engagement and Approvals

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with landowners, community members, regulators, and councils.

  • Represent project interests at community information sessions and council meetings.

  • Lead or support planning and development approval processes, including environmental referrals and planning applications.

Land Acquisition and Negotiation

  • Negotiate land access agreements with landowners, supported by legal counsel.

  • Manage the relationship lifecycle with landowners, from initial contact to contract execution and project handover.

Commercial Analysis

  • Support due diligence for project acquisitions and internal reviews.

About You

  • Hold 3+ years of experience in renewable energy development, focusing on large-scale solar and/or energy storage.

  • Possess a tertiary qualification in engineering, environmental science, urban planning, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with the National Electricity Market, grid connection processes, and the National Electricity Rules.

  • Proven track record in managing development approvals and stakeholder engagement.

  • Understand local community dynamics and can negotiate effectively with various stakeholders.

  • Able to collaborate across cross-functional teams and lead project work streams.

  • Comfortable working in diverse teams, collaborating across country boundaries with a sense of diversity and inclusion.

Location & Travel

  • This role will be based in Melbourne or Queensland, requiring regular regional and interstate travel.

  • Travel to the office for team alignments is expected.
