Job Overview

The successful applicant will be responsible for monitoring the state road and transport network in real-time, identifying incidents and congestion across all modes of transport.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate quick responses with teams on the ground and the Senior Transport Operations Controller to ensure efficient incident management.
  • Proactively monitor clearway corridors and respond to vehicles parked in prescribed areas, maintaining adherence to NSW road rules.
  • Track the performance of traffic signal systems and report faults that could impact traffic flow, ensuring minimal disruptions.
  • Work in a 24/7 operations room on a rotating roster, including day and night shifts, to provide continuous support.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a control room environment, preferably within the Transport sector, is essential for this role.
  • The ideal candidate will possess effective communication skills, enabling them to work under pressure and make on-the-spot decisions.
  • Comfortable using dispatch systems, radio communications, and traffic/transport monitoring tools, the successful applicant will leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of NSW road rules, including clearway and parking restrictions, as well as principal transport modes in Sydney and across NSW, is mandatory for this position.
