Job Overview

The Operations Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the Shift Manager to drive innovation and execution in transportation networks.

This individual must have the drive to motivate a team of individuals to meet targets and productivity expectations in line with company goals. They should be prepared to take responsibility for tracking attendance and workflow of that team and work alongside the Shift Manager to highlight and rectify issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of a strong health and safety culture through compliance with legislation and policy.
  • Manage daily operations of department duties.
  • Deputize for the Shift Manager as required.
  • Conduct debriefs of all staff and ensure accurate completion of paperwork.
  • Carry out tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assign work to staff as required to support workflow and daily metrics.
  • Support the Shift Manager by ensuring sufficient resourcing for your function including training needs, absence, performance management, coaching, and continuous monitoring of department productivity.
  • Assist with the training of new associates to ensure they have the necessary knowledge to carry out required tasks.
  • Assist the Shift Manager with tracking, trending, and reporting of departmental metrics.
  • Assist the Shift Manager in analyzing and understanding the reasons behind success and failure in meeting departmental and Delivery Station goals.
  • Track and report hours and schedules for Associates.
  • Resolve process-related area issues as required.
  • Ensure equipment defect reporting is completed to a high standard.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing teams.
  • Experience with planning, performance metrics, and process improvement.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in logistics.
  • Experience with data analysis.
