Recreation Program Coordinator

The Salvation Army is one of Australia's largest charities, providing support to thousands of Australians every year.

This role is responsible for developing and coordinating recreation programs for residents with emotional and physical maintenance needs through recreational activities promoting psychological, social, and physical wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and implement diverse range of recreational activities for residents meeting their individual needs, including group, small group, and individual activities.
  • Facilitate resident involvement and engagement in the planning of programs
  • Design activities considering residents' culture, history, likes, and preferences
  • Motivate and encourage resident involvement in the advertised program
  • Continuously assess the recreational needs of residents and document progress
  • Assist residents with their recreational needs respecting their dignity and privacy.
  • Actively monitor and record changes in residents' care plans.
  • Maintain regular contact with care team and communicate with other staff
  • Maintain professional standards in all interactions

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care and/or Cert IV in Lifestyle and Leisure
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience working with the aged and understanding of aged-related conditions
  • Leadership skills
  • Computer literate and experienced using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel etc.)
  • National NDIS Workers Screening Check
