Job Summary

The Lifestyle Assistant position involves providing support and coordination for recreation programs to promote the emotional and physical well-being of residents. This role is responsible for implementing diverse activities that cater to individual needs, fostering a positive environment through social interaction, crafts, and recreational pursuits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement varied recreational activities tailored to meet residents' unique requirements.
  • Cultivate resident participation and engagement in program planning processes.
  • Design engaging activities considering residents' cultural backgrounds, preferences, and abilities.
  • Motivate residents to participate in available programs by promoting their benefits.
  • Continuously monitor and record changes in residents' care plans, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Maintain high professional standards when interacting with residents, families, and staff members.
About You

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A deep understanding of Christian values and The Salvation Army's ethos.
  • Demonstrated experience working with the aged and knowledge of age-related conditions.
  • Previous experience working with individuals living with dementia.
  • A proven ability to assess and develop suitable recreational activities based on residents' needs.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Certificate III in Aged Care or Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Leisure.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • An empathetic approach, enthusiasm, and patience to create positive experiences for residents.
