Job Description

This is a permanent position based in Sydney, offering an excellent career opportunity for experienced professionals. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of real-time and batch data solutions using Scala and Python.
  • Collaborate with engineers across multiple locations to define technical direction and ensure successful delivery.
  • Review and validate technical designs and estimates produced by team members.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 7+ years of experience developing large-scale applications using Scala and Python.
  • Proven expertise in real-time streaming jobs and extensive experience in real-time data processing and streaming pipelines in production environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle large datasets (10s-100s TB) using PySpark in numerous production workloads.
  • Strong foundation in functional programming and data structures.
  • Experience in implementing MLOps pipelines in production is advantageous.
