About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our dynamic team at O'Donnells Cafe & Bar in Palm Cove. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide range of dishes to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including soups, salads, entrees, and desserts, using fresh ingredients and adhering to quality standards.
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements to ensure efficient operations and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor and manage stock levels, ordering supplies and ingredients as needed.
- Portion food accurately and ensure consistency in presentation and flavor.
- Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Supervise kitchen staff to ensure timely and quality service.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Adapt to dietary requirements and special requests from customers, including allergies and food intolerances.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff and apprentices as required.
Requirements
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or relevant Diploma. At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food quality and safety.
Benefits
- Annual Salary: $74,000 to $76,000 AUD plus guaranteed superannuation.
