Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including soups, salads, entrees, and desserts, using fresh ingredients and adhering to quality standards.
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements to ensure efficient operations and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels, ordering supplies and ingredients as needed.
  • Portion food accurately and ensure consistency in presentation and flavor.
  • Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Supervise kitchen staff to ensure timely and quality service.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Adapt to dietary requirements and special requests from customers, including allergies and food intolerances.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff and apprentices as required.

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or relevant Diploma. At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food quality and safety.
