To ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, we work closely with government and agencies across the emergency management portfolio to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies.

The **Capability Development Officer** will lead the implementation of state-wide strategies to enhance volunteer Marine Search and Rescue capabilities. This role will coordinate readiness and fleet management processes to ensure provision of reliable MSAR services to the community.

The successful candidate will have experience in contributing to the development and implementation of state-wide initiatives or programs across multiple volunteer organisations. Knowledge of the National Law Act 2012 for Domestic Commercial Vessels, in particular exemption 24, Safety Management Systems and vessel survey requirements, is also essential.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The ideal candidate will be able to think critically and strategically, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes that meet the needs of our community.
