Water Infrastructure Project Manager Job Description

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Water Infrastructure Project Manager to lead and deliver water infrastructure projects, including water treatment facilities and pipeline networks.

The successful candidate will oversee planning, execution, and delivery of projects in compliance with regulatory standards and environmental guidelines.

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of water treatment and distribution projects
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and government stakeholders
  • Develop and monitor project plans, budgets, and schedules
  • Ensure compliance with water industry regulations and safety standards
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
  • Prepare reports and present project updates to senior management
  • Lead procurement and contract management activities
  • Promote sustainability and innovation in project execution
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in water infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment processes and pipeline systems
  • Familiarity with Australian water regulations and environmental standards
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex projects
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification
  • Experience with SCADA systems and hydraulic modeling
  • Understanding of asset management and lifecycle planning
