Support Worker/Carer Job

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with diverse special needs and frail, older people, including those living in the community.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a person-centered, values-based approach to service delivery informed by a proven commitment to social justice concerns.

  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centered care.
  • Demonstrated communication and relationship management abilities, as well as the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide support and assistance with living skills, connections with the community, personal and social development, employment, education, and training.
  2. Assist participants with ADL's, money, health and wellbeing, general life skills, and recreational activities as part of their care management plans.
  3. Empower participants to pursue significant goals and make a positive influence in the lives of people.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Disability/Aged Care/Individual Support/Social Work.
  • Full Victorian Driver's License and your own vehicle (registered in your name).
  • National Criminal Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • First Aid & CPR (or willingness to get one).
  • Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate.
  • Manual Handling (not mandatory but preferable).
