
Lead Therapist

This key position plays a pivotal role in enhancing practice and quality excellence in Children, Youth and Family services across the North and West Division. The successful candidate will bring expertise to support & develop the workforce in child & family programs, working with leaders to embed therapeutic, culturally safe care across initiatives.
Key responsibilities include providing expert advice on complex cases, escalating risks, and supporting staff through reflective practice, case reviews, secondary consultations, and training. This includes contributing to impactful outcomes for vulnerable families through programs like Family Preservation and Reunification, Integrated Family Services, Foster Care and Kinship care.
The ideal candidate will actively contribute to the development of evidence-based practices at the organization, ensuring interventions are culturally responsive and trauma-informed. Their expertise will drive meaningful change and elevate the quality of service delivery in the division.
This role is integral to the leadership team and reports directly to a divisional Senior Manager. Collaboration opportunities exist with fellow Principal Practitioners across the region, working together on methodologies and service innovations.
This opportunity offers flexibility in work arrangements, depending on location, and requires regular travel across the service area.

Your Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Significant experience supporting children and young people impacted by complex trauma, using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches.
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience across children, youth and family services, from early intervention through to foster and kinship care.
- A track record in coaching and developing staff, leading reflective practice, facilitating training, and providing case consultations.
- The ability to draw meaningful insights from practice data, identify trends, and recommend improvements at individual, team and system levels.
- A collaborative, solutions-focused approach, working confidently across teams and disciplines to guide high-quality decisions.
