About the Role:

School Counsellors play a pivotal role in supporting students' social, emotional, and academic well-being. They collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to provide evidence-based interventions and strategies that enable students to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group counselling sessions to students
  • Develop and implement school-wide programs to promote student wellbeing
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement tailored learning plans
  • Provide professional development for school staff and families on mental health and wellbeing
  • Work closely with pastoral care teams to support students

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the relevant professional body or membership of a recognised association
  • A minimum Bachelor's degree in Counselling
  • A strong understanding of the relevant professional body's ethical and legal requirements
  • Experience in providing evidence-based interventions with children and young people
  • The ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage caseloads
