Optical Gyroscope Design Lead

About the role:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to lead our optical gyroscope design team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine high-performance optical gyroscope systems, focusing on reliability, manufacturability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product development and integration of advanced gyroscopes.
  • Analyse test data, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to enhance gyroscope performance and reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in optical technology, photonics, and relevant manufacturing techniques.
Qualification, skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the field of Fiber Optic Gyroscopes, with a strong theoretical and practical understanding of FOG physics and associated phenomena.
  • Expertise in electro-optical systems design and integration, including knowledge of light sources, optical fibers, couplers, modulators, and detectors.
  • Demonstrable experience with manufacturing processes for optical or precision electro-mechanical systems, particularly with an understanding of challenges related to large-scale production.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
