Lead Literacy Specialist

The successful applicant will lead and guide a team of educators in developing effective literacy strategies across Prep to Year Six.

This role includes a range of responsibilities including professional learning, data analysis, and coaching teachers to implement best practice in literacy education.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and experience in leading literacy programs and be committed to the ethos of Catholic education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality professional learning for staff on literacy best practices.
  • Analyse and interpret literacy data to inform teaching and learning.
  • Coach and mentor teachers to improve their literacy skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and implement literacy intervention programs to support students who require additional assistance.

Requirements:

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in leading literacy programs.
  • Strong knowledge and/or experience in leading literacy education.
  • Current registration with VIT.
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education (or willingness to work towards accreditation).
  • Commitment to the ethos of Catholic education.
