**Role Description/Criteria**

St. Martin de Porres is seeking a passionate and skilled Literacy Leader who is able to inspire and guide others to grow every learner in their literacy abilities.

As a member of our energetic and high-functioning leadership team, you'll play a vital role in leading literacy learning as well as literacy intervention across Prep to Year Six.

The Literacy Leader & Intervention Teacher position includes a POL 1 with a tenure of 3 years. It includes 0.5 Literacy Leader and 0.5 Intervention Teacher.

**KEY SELECTION CRITERIA**

Applicants will be expected to:

- guide, facilitate, mentor, model, coach and support classroom teachers and support staff to implement best practice in Literacy Education
- plan and lead Literacy professional learning for staff including the induction of new staff to build expertise and consistency
- implement MACS Vision For Instruction in line with the SMDP 2025-2028 School Improvement Plan
- collaborate with Learning & Teaching Leader to manage, analyse and act on Literacy data
- use evidence-based strategies to progress learners, including but not limited to Multi Lit, Reading Recovery and Levelled Literacy Intervention
- work collaboratively with all members of the intervention team
- be a member of the School Leadership Team including active participation at weekly leadership meetings
- embrace and participate in the life of the St Martin de Porres school community.

- have relevant teaching qualifications
- have strong knowledge and/or experience in leading literacy
- be currently registered with VIT
- have accreditation to teach Religious Education (or will work towards accreditation)
- be committed to the ethos of Catholic education.
