Architecture and Design Support Specialist

This position involves providing technical assistance to staff and students, focusing on the disciplines of architecture, industrial design and planning.

The Griffith School of Engineering and Built Environment offers a wide range of engineering programs and has an active research culture. This role will be responsible for supporting the setup, maintenance and dismantling of laboratory apparatus and studio spaces.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical support to assigned work areas, including setting up, servicing and dismantling equipment and materials
  • Demonstrating techniques in operating equipment, product/prototype manufacture and instrumentation
  • Assisting students and staff with the use of specific equipment such as laser cutters, 3D printers and plotter printers

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in architecture, planning, industrial design or equivalent combination of relevant trade experience and skills
  • Ability to operate and maintain specialized equipment, proficiency in computer-aided design software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective communication skills, ability to convey technical information clearly and accurately document equipment and software licenses
