About the Role

The Brisbane City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ward Officer to join our team. As a Senior Ward Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Ward Office in achieving great outcomes for our community and residents.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the Ward Office team
  • Leading the delivery of effective administration and customer service
  • Maintaining oversight across work in progress and briefing stakeholders on complex projects
  • Researching and interpreting legislation, policy, and guidelines to support the councillor in resolving community queries
  • Developing and implementing effective customer service strategies
  • Assisting with digital content design and editing, and managing social media accounts

Requirements

  • Demonstrated front-facing customer service experience with a strong focus on resolving complex customer queries
  • Ability to maintain oversight across work in progress and brief stakeholders on complex projects
  • Demonstrated experience in leading an office-based operation and providing high-quality administrative and secretarial support
  • Demonstrated experience in researching and interpreting legislation, policy, and guidelines
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with a wide range of customers and Council officers
