Job Description

As a highly specialized Automotive Mechanical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support for automotive mechanical systems. This role requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in both mechanical engineering and automotive technology.

The position involves conducting advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of automotive mechanical systems, providing technical guidance to clients on maintenance and repair procedures, collaborating with engineering and development teams to enhance product performance and reliability, developing, reviewing, and refining technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics, coordinating with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve issues with component quality or design, supporting warranty claims by assessing failures and validating repair or replacement needs through comprehensive technical analysis, and ensuring compliance with Australian automotive standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or a closely related field.
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty automotive systems and engines.
  • Prefer 5+ years of experience, ideally with an OEM such as ISUZU, FUSO, HINO etc.
  • Familiarity with common automotive diagnostic protocols such as CAN, J1850, and ISO9141.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience with customer service and technical support is preferred.
  • Expertise in automotive diagnostic tools and software, including experience with diagnostic equipment such as scan tools, oscilloscopes, and multi-meters.
