Mortgage Credit and Risk Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Credit and Risk Specialist to join our team at EBR. This exciting opportunity is for a confident and experienced individual to assist with all risk and credit related functions, including responding to escalations, analysis, reporting, and supporting the Credit team.

As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the achievement of operational objectives through a focus on new business growth and renewal retention. Your expertise in residential mortgage underwriting/risk space will enable you to review bank statements and credit reports, manage daily workflow, and make high-quality recommendations to management on complex deals.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to assist colleagues and less experienced staff through sharing knowledge and coaching, and handle all aspects of the credit underwriting process within delegated lending authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review bank statements and credit reports
  • Manage daily workflow
  • Acting as the primary point of escalation between sales and credit department
  • Making high-quality recommendations to management on complex deals
  • Assisting colleagues and less experienced staff through sharing knowledge and coaching
  • Handling all aspects of credit underwriting process within delegated lending authority

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years' experience in residential mortgage underwriting/risk space
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to liaise confidently and empathically with high-end customers
  • Ability to take initiative & problem solve under pressure
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
