Drive Business Growth as a Senior Technical Lead

The role of Senior Technical Lead involves overseeing the delivery of civil projects from concept design through to construction. Strong technical expertise and leadership skills are essential for success in this position.

A key aspect of the job is to play a key role in business development and client engagement. This includes maintaining existing relationships, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to strategic planning and growth initiatives.

In addition to leading project delivery and business development, the successful candidate will oversee project financials, including fee proposals, resourcing, budgeting, and profitability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience. They will also possess excellent leadership capabilities, experience managing teams and projects, and a proven ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead project delivery from concept design through to construction
  • Contribute to business development and client engagement
  • Oversee project financials, including fee proposals, resourcing, budgeting, and profitability
  • Mentor staff and foster a high-performance culture
  • Peer review of design work and documentation to ensure quality and compliance
  • Represent the business in client meetings, presentations, and industry forums
  • Continually improve systems, processes, and design standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years' relevant project technical experience in the consulting or engineering industry
  • CPEng/NER accreditation
  • Registered Design Practitioner or on pathway to achieve
  • Strong leadership capabilities and experience managing teams and projects
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships
  • A track record of driving business performance through technical and commercial contributions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and influence
  • A proactive and strategic mindset with a passion for growing business and people
