Fettler - Metal Surface Preparation Specialist

Job Summary:

Weir Minerals is seeking a skilled Fettler to join our team. As a Fettler, you will be responsible for preparing castings for the next stage of manufacturing by grinding, smoothing, and polishing metal surfaces to meet our quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare castings for next stage of manufacturing process while meeting Aftercast production output
  • Operate equipment including overhead cranes
  • Use high cycle grinder to fettle castings
  • Ensure all equipment is fit for purpose and operating correctly
  • Participate in toolbox talks
  • Be flexible in operating in other areas of the Foundry if required by management
  • Ensure safe work practices through reading, working within and signing off on SOP's, and notifying a supervisor if there is any concerns

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in fettling and/or operation of grinding and impact equipment with a demonstrated commitment to safety and quality
  • Prior experience in operation of overhead or KBK cranes with an understanding of slinging loads
  • Constant carrying up to 9kgs
