Fettler - Metal Surface Preparation Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Fettler to join our team at Weir Minerals. As a Fettler, you will be responsible for preparing metal surfaces for the next stage of manufacturing. This involves grinding, smoothing, and polishing metal surfaces to ensure they meet our quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare metal surfaces for the next stage of manufacturing
  • Operate equipment including overhead cranes
  • Use high cycle grinder to fettle castings
  • Ensure all equipment is fit for purpose and operating correctly
  • Participate in toolbox talks
  • Be flexible in operating in other areas of the Foundry if required by management
  • Ensure safe work practices through reading, working within and signing off on SOP's, and notifying a supervisor if there is any concerns

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in fettling and/or operation of grinding and impact equipment with a demonstrated commitment to safety and quality
  • Prior experience in operation of overhead or KBK cranes with an understanding of slinging loads
  • Constant carrying up to 9kgs
