About the Role:

Weir Minerals is seeking a skilled Fettler to join our team. As a Fettler, you will be responsible for preparing castings for the next stage of the manufacturing process, ensuring they meet our high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare castings for the next stage of manufacturing, meeting production output targets.
  • Operate equipment, including overhead cranes, to ensure efficient and safe processing.
  • Use high cycle grinders to fettle castings, maintaining quality and precision.
  • Ensure all equipment is fit for purpose and operating correctly, identifying and reporting any issues.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and contribute to a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Be flexible and willing to operate in other areas of the Foundry as required.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, reading, working within, and signing off on SOPs, and notify a supervisor of any concerns.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in fettling and/or operation of grinding and impact equipment, with a demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
  • Prior experience in operating overhead or KBK cranes, with an understanding of slinging loads.
  • Ability to constantly carry up to 9kgs.
