Job Description

Talent International is currently recruiting for an experienced Policy Analyst to work on a 12-month contract basis for one of our Federal Government clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing policy analysis and recommendations within an assigned project area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of legislation, policies, reports, strategies, and program/project plans to inform policy and strategy design.
  • Research and Reporting: Conduct desktop research to identify key trends and issues, and develop reports, briefs, and other executive materials to support policy development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate and liaise with internal stakeholders, including procurement teams and external suppliers, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Project Coordination: Develop materials, agendas, and PowerPoint presentations for meetings and workshops to support project delivery.
Requirements
  • Australian Citizenship: Must be an Australian citizen.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefs, emails, and administrative documentation.
  • Analytical Skills: Conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and synthesise information from a range of strategic, academic, policy, or legislative sources.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder relationship management and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Relevant Qualifications: Relevant social sciences undergraduate or postgraduate qualification (e.g. political science, public policy, economics, sociology, communications) and familiarity with key concepts in qualitative research.
  • Interdisciplinary Experience: Experience working or studying in an interdisciplinary context, demonstrating the ability to acquire working knowledge of complex concepts from fields such as statistics, econometrics, and health economics.
  • Policy Knowledge: Understanding of current policy trends and debates relevant to the disability sector, the NDIS, and/or social policy in Australia.
