Accountant Assistant Role for Financial Operations

Henry Schein, a leading supplier of dental solutions in Australia, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the Controls and GL Manager in ensuring complete control and accountability of the organisation's financial transactions.

About this Opportunity:

The successful candidate will be responsible for month end financial reporting, bank reconciliation and intercompany recharges, fixed asset reporting, internal control, statutory return and audit request. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys taking the initiative outside their day-to-day duties by identifying process improvements and taking on interesting project work.

Your Experience, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Tertiary qualified with a Bachelor Accounting degree (mandatory), and Part Qualified in either the CA or CPA professional program (desired)
  • 1-2 years accounting experience, preferably in a multinational corporate, distribution or audit environment
  • Understanding of AR, AP, GL, and Inventory Modules within a commercial environment
  • Knowledge of HFM, Phocas and Pronto (desired) and intermediate to advanced skills working with Microsoft Excel (mandatory)
  • You will be a team player and also highly effective when working autonomously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, time management, and listening skills
