About the Role:- This is an opportunity for a qualified lawyer to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing expert legal advice on complex banking and finance matters.
- Provide high-quality legal support for various business units, including BOQ Business Bank, BOQ Specialist, BOQ Finance, and BOQ Financial Markets.
- Assist in structuring and settling banking and finance transactions, as well as advising on legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support strategic initiatives that strengthen, simplify, digitise, and optimise operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical legal skills, a practical understanding of banking and finance transactions, and experience advising on SME business structures. They will also be comfortable finding solutions to settle transactions and advising on PPSA and PEXA related issues.
The successful candidate will be able to problem-solve in a variety of situations and timeframes, operating in a highly regulated environment.
Key Qualifications:- A qualified legal practitioner in Australia (6-8 years PQE), with experience ideally gained in private practice or in-house within the banking and finance sector.
- Strong technical legal skills and a practical understanding of banking and finance transactions and familiarity with equipment finance (including novated leasing), as well as structured and dealer finance products.
- Experience advising on SME business structures and foundational knowledge of property, corporate, and trust law.
The right individual will be comfortable working in a collaborative team environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional results and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
