Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel, Business Bank Regulatory

As a seasoned legal professional, this role presents an exceptional opportunity to leverage your technical expertise and commercial acumen to deliver high-quality legal advice across various banking and finance activities.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled legal practitioner with 6-8 years PQE in Australia, preferably with experience gained in private practice or in-house within the banking and finance sector. You will be expected to bring strong technical legal skills and a practical understanding of banking and finance transactions, as well as structured and dealer finance products.

  • Providing expert advice on legal and regulatory requirements, including under the Corporations Act, ASIC Act and BCOP.
  • Structuring and settling complex banking and finance transactions.
  • Delivering timely and high-quality legal advice on matters such as marketing and promotional activities, credit and financial products, mandatory breach reporting and customer remediation.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders across distribution, product, credit, risk and compliance, as well as external law firms, regulators, and industry bodies. We operate in a fast-paced environment, requiring a strategic thinker who can problem-solve effectively in varied situations and timeframes.
