Position Overview: The Senior Academic will play a pivotal role in steering the Department's strategic initiatives, contributing to teaching at all academic levels, and engaging in impactful research published in esteemed national and international journals. This role involves enhancing the Department's research profile, securing external funding, and fostering collaborative relationships with various stakeholders, including industry partners and other educational institutions.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Educational Leadership:
- Drive the integration of industry insights and research to inform curriculum design and teaching methodologies across the Department.
- Lead teams in the development and evaluation of courses and innovative curriculum designs that influence educational practices within the Department and the broader University.
- Implement learner-centered, research-informed teaching strategies across diverse delivery modes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student learning outcomes through effective team-building and support.
- Provide clear assessment criteria and timely feedback to facilitate student learning.
Research and Innovation:
- Lead high-impact research initiatives and scholarly activities that yield significant outputs.
- Develop and manage collaborations that foster innovative research recognized on national and international platforms.
- Effectively communicate research findings to relevant disciplines and the broader community, ensuring substantial impact.
- Successfully lead grant applications and research teams to secure funding that influences policy and practice.
Community Engagement and University Citizenship:
- Contribute to the university's strategic objectives through formal and informal leadership roles.
- Support the development and execution of community engagement initiatives that align with the University’s mission.
Key Selection Criteria:
- PhD in Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Established research reputation demonstrated by publications in top-tier journals.
- Expertise in multiple areas of research specialization relevant to the Department.
- Proficiency in teaching across various domains within the Department.
- Demonstrated excellence in scholarly teaching and innovative curriculum development.
- Proven track record in securing competitive research funding.
- Experience in engaging with research, community, and industry to elevate the discipline's standing.
