About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified individual with a strong background in counselling to contribute to the development of course material for new online and face-to-face counselling units at Deakin University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver high-quality online and face-to-face counselling units that align with the University's principles of teaching, learning, and the student experience.
  • Develop and implement curricula in online learning contexts, including the use of online educational technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of course material, including unit guides and finalising grades.
  • Maintain deep discipline knowledge to inform unit design and delivery.
  • Deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching across different levels and modes of delivery.
Selection Criteria
  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or a Masters in Counselling and/or other relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs in the area of counselling, including innovative curriculum design.
  • Experience designing and implementing curricula in online learning contexts, including the use of online educational technologies.
  • Experience designing and implementing curricula in intensive contexts.
  • Experience developing counselling content, including whole units.
