Executive Officer Position

The Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness is seeking an experienced Executive Officer to join its high-containment facility in Geelong, Victoria.

This executive position involves providing high-level support to the Directorate, managing and administering the facility. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing advice and support on stakeholder and external interactions.
  • Formulating and preparing responses to information requests, and reporting requirements.
  • Analysing complex issues, developing appropriate responses, and making decisions under pressure.
  • Coordinating internal and external reporting, planning activities, and leadership meetings.
  • Leading projects aligned with research priorities.
  • Supporting risk management and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Maintaining relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess tertiary qualifications, excellent written communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and high-level organisational skills. They will also demonstrate experience in successful project management and be able to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.

Candidates must meet essential criteria outlined in the job description and hold Australian citizenship. Appointment is subject to obtaining or having existing Australian security clearance at Neg Vetting 1 level and may be subject to other security/medical/character requirements.

About the Role

The Executive Officer will play a critical role in supporting the Directorate's operations. This includes:

  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Managing and coordinating projects.
  • Building relationships with external stakeholders.
