Facilities Operations Manager

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Operations Manager to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our hotel facilities. This role will be responsible for ensuring the hotel meets all safety and regulatory requirements, including compliance with building codes, fire safety regulations, and health standards.

The successful candidate will have advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional certification and licence are also required if necessary by law.

This is a key leadership role that requires strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage competing priorities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing their team and have a proven track record of collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct facilities inspections to identify any defects and coordinate with contractors and vendors on repairs or installations.
  • Oversee the procurement of hotel equipment and machinery, ensuring it is installed and in working order.
  • Maintain and order parts and supplies while minimising waste and meeting green initiatives.
  • Liaise with contractors and vendors to develop and maintain maintenance agreements.
  • Create a preventative maintenance programme to ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for guests.
Requirements:
  • Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional certification and licence if required by law.
  • Demonstrated capability of collaborating with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and passion for developing your team.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to explore new ways of working.
  • Fluency in English and other languages preferred.
  • Full working rights in Australia without restrictions.
