Senior Child Protection Practitioner

The Senior Child Protection Practitioner plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the well-being and development of children and young people. To excel in this position, you will need to possess a strong sense of social justice and an understanding of complex family dynamics.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Risk Assessment and Analysis: Develops and coaches others in understanding risk assessment and analysis, ensuring the highest level of protection for vulnerable children.
  • Case Planning Review and Management: Provides case planning advice, guidance, and support to colleagues; directly supports and inputs into cases where there is unacceptable risk to the child.
  • Critical Inquiry: Leads planning, review, and management of issues in line with best practice principles and legislative requirements.

This role requires a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of legislative, policy, and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are essential.
