Job Profile

The Branch Lending Specialist role is a key position in delivering exceptional customer service and promoting banking products and services to the local community.

About the Role

  • Provide expert advice and support to customers on their retail banking and lending needs, fostering strong relationships and identifying opportunities for growth and referrals.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of lending and ancillary products, ensuring informed decision-making and excellent customer outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and minimising risk.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to promote the bank's brand and purpose, driving business success and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in mortgage lending or credit assessment, with a proven track record of success.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with various banking products, including lending and ancillary services.
  • Proven ability to network with key stakeholders and pursue leads, driving business growth and customer engagement.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to problem solve complex financial problems and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of the Financial Services Code and Acts (FSRA, Credit Union Code of Practice, Privacy Act), with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
  • ASIC Tier 2 requirement or ability to acquire rapidly, ensuring compliance and minimising risk.
  • Cert IV in Mortgage Brokering (desirable), demonstrating a high level of expertise and commitment to professional development.
