Research Opportunities in Potassium Ion Channel Dynamics

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will investigate the molecular mechanisms of potassium ion channel function and modulation using advanced molecular dynamics methods and analysis. This project involves systems including BK (Big-conductance K), MthK, and KcsA potassium channels.

Key Objectives:

  1. Design and implement molecular dynamics simulations to understand potassium ion channel dynamics
  2. Collaborate with experimental researchers to analyze results and achieve high-impact publications
  3. Contribute to team discussions and present research findings through conference presentations and paper writing

Requirements:

  • PhD in physics, physical chemistry, or a closely related discipline
  • Experience in atomistic simulations of membrane protein systems, particularly potassium channels
  • Strong skills in supercomputing, programming/scripting in Unix environments, MD scripting, and visualization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working effectively with experimental collaborators
