We are seeking a senior leadership professional to spearhead our claims management operations.

As a seasoned Claims Manager, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing team and driving transformative change across the claims landscape.

You will have the opportunity to re-engineer the claims process, with a focus on improving customer service, efficiency, and effectiveness.

A day in the life of this role includes:

  • Providing operational leadership to a talented team of Claims and Senior Claims Consultants
  • Cultivating a high-performance culture that reflects our values, efficiently allocating and monitoring workflow, portfolio management, and executing all claims operating rituals
  • Executing claims operating rituals through effective allocation and monitoring of workflow
  • Supporting complex claims alongside technical consultants, claims liability determinations, and claims strategy sign-off above delegation limits, when required
  • Escalating and resolving complaints, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Maintaining a robust risk culture by adhering to all risk controls and processes Deliver claims operational and business plans including execution of process and customer experience change

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Retail Claims
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or a background in Allied Health (Psychology, Occupational Therapy, etc.), Nursing, Law, or Accounting
  • A proven track record in management, leadership, and performance of claims and/or operational teams within the Life Insurance industry
  • Certification IV in Life Insurance or equivalent (desirable)
  • Solid knowledge of claims handling practices and the Life Insurance Code of Practice, along with associated assessment and operational requirements

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategies that enhance customer and claims management outcomes
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring Proficiency in managing and executing end-to-end process changes
