
Laws Enforcement Specialist

As a Municipal Laws Officer, you will provide authoritative advice and support to the community on municipal laws and policies. Your role will involve:
- Responding to queries and complaints in a timely and courteous manner.
- Conducting proactive patrols to identify compliance issues and educating individuals on adherence to legislation and local laws.
- Enforcing regulations, issuing notices, and processing infringements as authorized.
- Staying updated on changes in relevant acts and regulations, reporting any impacts on your role.
- Investigate breaches and negotiate successful outcomes.
- Prepare evidence and reports for prosecution matters and attend court when required.
- Support fire prevention activities during the fire season.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of relevant legislation, local laws, and council policies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills through discussion, negotiation, and teamwork.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Time management skills to plan and organize your workload.
- Commitment to quality customer service and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Animal handling aptitude and willingness to achieve voluntary compliance.
As a Municipal Laws Officer with our organization, you can expect:
- A competitive pay rate of $35.71 per hour + Superannuation.
- 32.5 hours per week.
Before applying for this role, please note:
- You will require a Certificate IV in Municipal Law Enforcement or equivalent.
- Experience in enforcement or compliance work is highly regarded.
