**Field Education Coordinator Role**

The successful candidate will provide professional leadership and support for field placements within our Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees, fostering a positive and supportive culture across the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Placement Management: Oversee all systems for coordinating field placements and build relationships with community organizations to secure diverse opportunities for students.
  • Student and Staff Support: Recruit, train, and support Academic Liaison Visitors, design workshops to prepare students for placements, and foster a positive culture.
  • Quality & Compliance: Collaborate with academic staff to develop policies and resources, maintain student performance records, and assess Recognition of Prior Learning applications. Ensure academic operations align with regulatory frameworks.
  • Leadership & Development: Attend key meetings, complete required reporting, and engage in scholarly practice and professional development, modelling core values.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility for AASW membership
  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Social Work with at least 5 years relevant industry experience
  • Experience supervising social work students on field placements
  • Knowledge of higher education requirements and AASW standards
  • Knowledge of the human services sector in Australia and contemporary social work practice
  • Passion for social work education that prepares graduates to respond to disadvantage and distress in society
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and group facilitation skills
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police and Working with Children check, if required
