About the Role

Datacom is a leading provider of IT professional services in Australia and New Zealand, and we're seeking a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join our team.

As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to our customers, ensuring their IT needs are met and exceeded. You will work closely with our customers to understand their requirements and deliver tailored maintenance services, hardware and software break/fix support, remote support, software deployment, and relocation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to customers in a high-paced environment, ensuring customer satisfaction is paramount.
  • Assist new users with their IT hardware collection and setup, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Ensure new equipment, such as laptops and mobile phones, are up-to-date and deployment-ready prior to release to customers.
  • Record all customer contacts in the appropriate IT Service Management (ITSM) tool.
  • Keep commitments to customers regarding progress updates, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Use tools and processes to deliver services to customers in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Proactively manage and maintain customer infrastructure as directed.
  • Initiate and drive service and process improvements to enhance customer experience and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Exceptional customer experience with regard to end-user services.
  • The ability to prioritize work to ensure achievement of all service level agreements.
  • Sound knowledge of laptops, desktop PCs, printers, media, and audio-visual equipment, BYOD, and mobility.
