Our Mental Health Team is seeking a skilled Psychologist to deliver clinical care to members of the military community.

Job Description

This role offers an opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary setting, supporting the diverse mental health needs of military personnel. You will be responsible for managing crisis presentations, conducting risk assessments and developing risk management plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a team within a health centre setting to support the mental health needs of military members
  • Manage crisis presentations and conduct risk assessments
  • Support ADF members with their initial intake and assessment, accommodating presenting needs
  • Develop case formulations and treatment plans
  • Implement programmatic treatment interventions
  • Care coordinate and provide group psycho-education
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate high levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
  • Hold current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Have minimum 2 years post graduate experience in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting, undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments and delivering Focussed Psychological Strategies
  • Participate in recent Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA
  • Hold current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification
  • Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and procedures, and national standards governing mental health practice (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy (desirable)
