Biochemistry and Chemical Pathology Registrar

This role encompasses training in chemical pathology, which includes standard biochemistry and endocrine evaluations, as well as protein and drug assessments, including immunosuppressive medications and toxicology. The position also involves specialized testing for heavy metals and the clinical management of patients presenting with specific abnormal test outcomes. Additionally, it includes management responsibilities related to quality assurance and occupational health and safety, along with pertinent information technology aspects. A significant component of this role is the clinical liaison function within the laboratory, contributing to staff training and the assessment of new testing methodologies. A proactive interest in research initiatives is both encouraged and supported.
This position is ideal for individuals participating in the joint training program of the RACP/RCPA in Chemical Pathology/Endocrinology or the RCPA Chemical Pathology program. For the year 2025, a collaborative interview process will be conducted with other Chemical Pathologists from Victoria who hold Chemical Pathology roles.
Applicants must possess legal qualifications as medical practitioners and be registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
