About the Company
Our client is a leading private provider of Pathology and Diagnostic services throughout Victoria. Their central Laboratory is seeking to appoint a Chief Scientist to join and help lead their dynamic team in Biochemistry.
About the Role
As their new Chief Scientist in Biochemistry, you will lead and support the strategy and operations of the department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and Manage the Annual Operating Plan and financial budgets for the department.
- Monitor and Report on Monthly Operational Results and prepare and submit a detailed annual business plan for the department.
- Initiate and Manage Change to business processes, systems, and technology, job roles, and department structures.
- Ensure Compliance with Regulations such as NATA, TGA, and NPACC.
- Support and Facilitate Team Development by providing timely feedback and removing barriers to performance relative to expected standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a self-motivated people leader with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. You will also demonstrate:
- Diagnostic Skills in Biochemistry and Special Chemistry with significant experience managing a highly automated laboratory and expert knowledge of quality assurance systems.
- Sound Experience with Laboratory-Based Analytical Tasks, method validation and verification, clinical result validation and interpretation.
- Sound Experience with Routine Internal Quality Control and External Quality Assurance Procedures.
- Solid Grounding in Pathology-Based IT and Quality Systems.
- Well-Versed on WHS Policies and Procedures in a Laboratory Environment.
- Exceptional Communication and Problem-Solving Skills.
- Commitment to Achieving Challenging Goals by demonstrating a high level of personal motivation and application of expertise.
