Make a Difference in Aboriginal Health and Cancer Care

This is an opportunity to work as a skilled Cancer Support Registered Nurse with a respected Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service. The organisation is dedicated to delivering holistic, culturally safe health services in rural Queensland.

  • As a Cancer Support Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting and embedding cancer screening resources across community programs.
  • You will support clients and families in navigating cancer services and palliative care pathways.
  • Coordinate planning with hospitals and Aboriginal Medical Services to ensure culturally safe referrals.
  • Deliver health promotion activities, yarning circles, and community education.
  • Assist in developing quality improvement processes and culturally appropriate learning materials.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Essential: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse; experience in community health, chronic disease, oncology, or related programs; current QLD Driver's Licence, First Aid/CPR, Blue Card, and National Police Check.
  • Desirable: Experience in cancer screening, oncology nursing, or palliative care; previous work in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services or rural health; IT skills including Microsoft Office.
