Cancer Support Nurse: Make a Real Impact


We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Cancer Support Registered Nurse to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine impact in Aboriginal health and cancer care outcomes.


The successful candidate will work in partnership with local groups and families to improve health outcomes and ensure culturally safe care pathways.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and embed cancer screening resources across community programs.
  • Support clients and families in navigating cancer services and palliative care pathways.
  • Coordinate planning with hospitals and Aboriginal Medical Services to ensure culturally safe referrals.
  • Deliver health promotion activities, yarning circles, and community education.
  • Assist in developing quality improvement processes and culturally appropriate learning materials.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:


  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience in community health, chronic disease, oncology, or related programs.
  • Current QLD Driver's Licence, First Aid/CPR, Blue Card, and National Police Check.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Cultural awareness working rural and remote and with Aboriginal and Torres Island communities.
