Compassionate Cancer Care Nurse

This role is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in delivering holistic cancer care services. As a Cancer Support Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for promoting and embedding cancer screening resources across community programs, supporting clients and families in navigating cancer services and palliative care pathways, and coordinating planning with hospitals and Aboriginal Medical Services to ensure culturally safe referrals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and embed cancer screening resources across community programs.
  • Support clients and families in navigating cancer services and palliative care pathways.
  • Coordinate planning with hospitals and Aboriginal Medical Services to ensure culturally safe referrals.
  • Deliver health promotion activities, yarning circles, and community education.
  • Assist in developing quality improvement processes and culturally appropriate learning materials.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience in community health, chronic disease, oncology, or related programs.
  • Current QLD Driver's Licence, First Aid/CPR, Blue Card, and National Police Check.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Cultural awareness working rural and remote and with Aboriginal and Torres Island communities.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in cancer screening, oncology nursing, or palliative care.
  • Previous work in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services or rural health.
  • IT skills including Microsoft Office.
