Cancer Support Registered Nurse Position

Job Description:

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Cancer Support Registered Nurse to join our team in rural Queensland. The successful candidate will have the chance to make a real difference in Aboriginal health and cancer care outcomes by promoting and embedding cancer screening resources across community programs.

The successful candidate will support clients and families in navigating cancer services and palliative care pathways, coordinate planning with hospitals and Aboriginal Medical Services to ensure culturally safe referrals, and deliver health promotion activities, yarning circles, and community education.

Key responsibilities include promoting and embedding cancer screening resources across community programs, supporting clients and families in navigating cancer services and palliative care pathways, coordinating planning with hospitals and Aboriginal Medical Services to ensure culturally safe referrals, delivering health promotion activities, yarning circles, and community education, and assisting in developing quality improvement processes and culturally appropriate learning materials.

Requirements include current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, experience in community health, chronic disease, oncology, or related programs, current QLD Driver's Licence, First Aid/CPR, Blue Card, and National Police Check, strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team, and cultural awareness working rural and remote communities.
