Role Purpose

The Partnerships Director will lead The Ambassador Platform's revenue and growth in the APAC region, focusing on driving new business, client retention, and upselling. This role will be a key representative of the business within the APAC market, working closely with clients, internal teams, and our strategic partner, IDP Education Ltd, to localize strategies and ensure sustained growth.

We are flexible with working locations and are open to considering applicants based across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing partnerships team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

2. Serve as a thought leader within the APAC business community, contributing insights on evolving market trends and partnership strategies.

3. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for partnership success, retention, and revenue growth.

4. Provide regular reports and insights to senior management, offering strategic recommendations based on market analysis and business performance.

Requirements

1. 10+ years of experience in higher education or EdTech in a commercial role, with a strong focus on the APAC region.

2. 3+ years of leadership experience.

3. Demonstrated experience in creating and delivering a business development strategy, including creating new commercial models to drive growth.

4. Ability to develop and deliver a client retention strategy, with a view to maximizing and retaining existing revenue.

5. A commercially minded individual with a proven track record of outstanding results.

6. Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing complex partnerships.

7. Demonstrated ability to directly drive new business revenue through sales activity.

8. Experience managing customer success teams and delivering on retention and upsell targets.

9. Deep understanding of the APAC market dynamics, including cultural and business nuances.

10. A strategic thinker who can create and execute a long-term plan for the market.

11. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

12. A quick learner with a curious mind and strong problem-solving abilities.

Desirable Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.

2. Experience working in a global business.

3. Expert knowledge of the ANZ higher education sector and connections within that network.

4. Experience in management reporting to effectively communicate the status and needs of the APAC business to other stakeholders within the wider company.
